Welcome to the website of Huseby Bruk. Here, we have gathered useful information for your visit. Huseby Bruk is located along Route 23, 20 km south of Växjö. We hope you will find the answers to your questions here. If not, you are always welcome to phone us or send us an email.

Please note that during certain events and occasions, some buildings may be closed temporarily.

Opening hours 2018

The estate area with museums, shops and restaurant:

March: 24, 25, 31
April, May: Weekends and holidays, 11.00-17.00 (closed Easter Monday)
June, July, August:  Daily, 11.00-17.00 (closed Midsummer’s Eve)
September, October: Weekends and holidays, 11.00-17.00
November: Christmas market 10-18 November 2018

In September–May, the Tourist Information and shop in ‘Gamla Smedjan’, the Old Forge, is also open:
Monday – Thursday, 10.00-17.00

From October to March, the area is open for everyone to visit. Please note that winter road maintenance is not carried out in the garden and park – tread carefully in slippery weather conditions.

Guided tours and conferences for groups can be booked throughout the year.

Entrance Ticket Prices 2018

In the period 16 June-12 August.
Adult: 100 SEK
Children: 0-16 yrs – free admission
Season pass: 150 SEK
Half price admission with “Kulturarvskortet”Naturum Kronoberg (the Visitor Center) has free admission and if you only wish to visit naturum, please announce it in the admissions’s office/entrance.

The admission price includes entry to the estate area with the mansion/castle, museums and exhibitions as well as a guided tour in the ironworks, the “Statarmuseum” (museum of the agricultural contract-workers) and naturum (see Programme for times).

The entrance fee is paid for in the general store (Brukshandeln).

All other days:

Entrance to open museums 50 SEK per adult. The mansion is only open for guided tours. The entrance ticket and tickets for guided tours can be bought in the information in the Old Forge. Free admission to the rest of the estate area. (Special events and occasions may include special entrance fees, e.g. the Christmas Market.)

May I bring my dog to Huseby?

You may bring your dog onto the area, as long as you keep it on a leash and clean up after it. However, you are not allowed to bring your dog into the castle, naturum or in the restaurant, but in summer there is a large outdoor area where dogs are welcome.


Disabled parking is available by the restaurant and in the middle of the estate area. Please contact the Tourist Information in the Old Forge for directions. Disabled restroom facilities are available in the Old Forge, Frökens Café and Restaurant and at naturum Kronoberg. Since the area is a cultural conservation area, unfortunately some buildings are not adapted for easy accessibility. For safety reasons, we cannot accommodate wheelchairs, walkers or prams in the mansion, the “Statarmuseum”, the electricity museum or the saw mill.


It is possible to pay by card or cash (Swedish Kronor) in the estate’s shops, the admission office and restaurant. In the restaurant, you can only pay by card.


When the estate area is open, there are restrooms available in the Old Forge, the iron mill, naturum Kronoberg and in Frökens Café and Restaurant. In the off-season restrooms are only available in the Old Forge during the opening hours. Disabled restroom facilities are available in the Old Forge, Frökens Café and Restaurant and at naturum Kronoberg.

Bring your own picnic basket

There are tables outside in the area and by the parking lot, where you can sit with your own pre-packed picnic basket. Please ask the Information for directions.
